Serves 8 or 9

Ingredients :

1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
¾ tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup fruit cocktail, drained
½ cup crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup brown sugar (I recommend only using half this much!)
½ cup chopped nuts  (can omit)

 Beat sugar into egg thoroughly.  Mix salt, flour and soda together.  Add flour to sugar/egg mixture, alternating with the fruit.  Mix well.  Spread into a 9 x 9 pan.  Top with brown sugar and sprinkle nuts on top. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.  It can be served warm or cold, with or without whipped cream or ice cream. :)
